Nothing has a “get rich quick” smell faster than our beloved industry because of this very thing. The best advice is to aim for minimal but steady earning—probably just a few thousand dollars working part-time your first year. However, it often takes several years to build up clients and sales to bring in a full-time income. The key is to get in fast ad learn the ropes faster!

Become an Excellent Networker

Direct sales is all about attracting new clients and closing the deal, so being great at meeting people and networking is key! But please… you can’t rely solely on friends and family. You’ll need to connect with potential customers at the grocery store or while riding the subway to work. Successful reps wear or carry their products always and have business cards and brochures with them at all times.
